Talking about money should not be taboo.

Bringing up money or finances in conversation commonly leads to discomfort or awkwardness. It’s blatantly rude to discuss salaries or net worth.

I want to change that.

I will be completely transparent with anyone that is curious about learning more about money or simply just enjoys the topic.

The number above is the value of my entire investment portfolio including a few brokerage accounts with Fidelity, Robinhood, & Webull as well as my cryptocurrency wallet in Coinbase.

Starting today, I am going to consistently track my entire investment portfolio on a weekly basis as a way for myself to analyze the performance of my assets but also to open up candidly with anyone that happens to stumble upon this Medium story.

Let’s talk about money. Leave a comment below if you have any suggestions for my portfolio.

I do believe that cryptocurrency will have some sort of substantial influence in the future of the global monetary environment. Despite that, I don’t have confidence in my knowledge of cryptocurrencies so I only hold a very small position in my crypto wallet in Coinbase currently. There are also a few dollars in Stellar Lumens and Dai I got for free from a promotional offer in Coinbase.

  • Bitcoin(BTC) — $267.97
  • Ethereum(ETH) — $169.38
  • Litecoin(LTC) — $115.91
  • Stellar Lumens(XLM) — $29.05
  • Dai — $6.02

My first investment account was actually with Robinhood that I opened up before I knew anything about the stock market or investing. My robinhood account is filled with stocks I had randomly gambled on a few years ago and never sold. There are also one or two stocks I gained from referrals as well.

Recently, I also put a little bit into Bitcoin(and Dogecoin as a joke) to see how trading cryptocurrencies on Robinhood works. It’s a pretty simple process as they allow you to put limit orders on crypto for free. Despite that, I don’t recommend trading crypto on Robinhood currently as they do not allow you access to your digital wallet so you would have to transfer it back to cash before you can withdraw it from your account.

  • Bitcoin(BTC) — $304.93
  • SPDR High Dividend ETF(SPYD) — $103.32
  • Glu Mobile(GLUU) — $47.65
  • Zix(ZIXI) — $35.80
  • Telefonica Brasil(VIV) — $26.24
  • ImmunoGen(IMGN) — $26.23
  • Kirkland(KIRK) — $15.48
  • Sotherly Hotels(SOHO) — $11.45
  • Dogecoin(DOGE) — $4.78
  • OPKO Health(OPK) — $3.95
  • Cash — $0.10

The entirety of my investments in Webull are individual positions that are kind of all over the place. This is due to the fact that I had received all of these stocks from some promotional offers from Webull(through referrals or deposit promotions).

  • Levi Strauss & Co.(LEVI) — $116.58
  • Zynga(ZNGA) — $71.73
  • HPE(HPE) — $67.50
  • UBS Group(UBS) — $58.52
  • Vonage Holdings(VG) — $38.70
  • Regions Financial(RF) — $31.60
  • Investors(ISBC) — $20.14
  • JetBlue Airways(JBLU) — $15.74
  • Cash — $1.15

My Future Goals for the Portfolio

My goal for the short term is pretty simple. I want to reach $100k. Each month I normally contribute anywhere between $2,000-$4,000 into my investment portfolio based on my expenses for the month.
